Chard Street Fayre 2022

The Committee met at 6am this morning and started to get Holyrood Street ready for the Stall Holders to arrive.

7am - The stage being set-up and the first of the stall holders starting to arrive and set-up.

By 08:30 Holyrood Street is filling up rapidly with stalls.

09:15 the committee get together for their first photo opportunity.

Just in time for the first act of the day - Local Legend John Gudge.

11am. The Street Fayre starting to get busy.

Our second act of the day - Betsy Goodman is playing.

1130 am - Kelly Leigh school of dance had a huge audience

 Shortly before midday, Claire announces a 2 minute's silence to mark the passing of Queen Elizabeth the 2nd.

This was impeccably observed

Then followed the national anthem

 

Lilly and Kym from Kym's bakes and cakes - Said "hello" 

12:30pm - Shows the Tooting Hoodlums playing the main stage

Meanwhile Committee member Jean was busy on her stall

Jean says "Hi, It's fantastic to see so many here"

Karina and Rachel also said "Great to be here, Come see us"

1pm in Holyrood Street - Just 3 hours to go! 

 

 

130pm welcomed Jack Humphries to the main stage

Zoe Penfold  "It is an amazing day, with a great community spirit"

 Sasha agreed adding "What a great day it is - Come visit me"

Somerset Skills & learning are busy doing face painting

Claire Brown says " A fantastic event for friends and family"

Abbie Quinn - Street Fayre goer says "Great crowd, food & atmosphere"

Tabitha says "friendly people and busy day"

It is now 3.30pm - Half hour to go!

Sam says "Fantastic day"

4pm the Street Fayre is over.

Time to pack up.

The committee takes down the main stage

  6pm - 12 hours later the committee are finished for the day. 

 

The Carnival Committee is doing their bit to ensure the future of Chard Carnival.

Fantastic day, Great to see Chard looking so busy there was a real buzz around the town and the weather was perfect.
Hopefully Chard Council have paid attention to all of your hard work to show what it possible.
As a new small business we appreciated the opportunity to be involved.
